UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Laboratory
The longest-running snow research station in the world — recording snowfall since 1879. Perched at Donner Pass, CSSL tracks snowpack, precipitation, and climate data that shapes water policy for all of California. When they say it's a big snow year, this is where the receipts come from.

League to Save Lake Tahoe (Keep Tahoe Blue)
The OG Tahoe conservation org, founded in 1957. They run the Tahoe Blue Crew cleanups, train 600+ citizen scientists to watch for invasive species, and deploy a solar-powered robot called BEBOT that's picked up 70,000+ pieces of beach litter. Visit their education center on the South Shore.

Tahoe Fund — Million for the Marsh
The Tahoe Fund raised over $1M to tear out a Motel 6 and restore the Upper Truckee Marsh — the largest wetland in the basin. Over 220 environmental projects funded and counting. The people putting money where the lake is.

A reconstructed 1910 log cabin in Tahoe City with local history, Washoe artifacts, and one of the finest Native American basket collections in the West. Small museum, big story.
